How to Create a Google Maps Link for your Business

Your customers want to find you, and to help them, you want to make it easy. That being said, it makes a lot of sense to include your location somewhere on your website, usually on the contact page (and often on the footer of your pages too).

One of the easiest ways to provide a map and driving directions to your website is to simply use Google Maps to create a link to your location. Here we show you how you can create this link in just a couple minutes.

add google maps link to your business location1) Go to Google Maps
http://maps.google.com/

2) Enter your address in the search box and hit the search button. For this example, I entered a local address —
1200 E 6th Ave Eugene OR 97402

3) Your result will look something like the following —
https://maps.google.com/?q=1200+E+6th+Ave+Eugene+OR+97402

4) You should be able to copy that google maps link. Or, simply enter your address after the ?q=, and make sure you put a + instead a space in the address — http://maps.google.com/?q=

5) Copy that link into your browser and make sure it sends you the right place. Alternatively, if your business is properly listed on google maps, click on your business address and copy that link.

6) On your contact page, or your address in your footer, or wherever you list your address on your website, simply add the above code as your map link.

That’s it! — When someone visiting your website clicks on the link, they will be immediately taken to the map of your location. They can easily see your location and if needed, easily click on driving directions.

By providing this Google Maps direct link, you have eliminated the work for anyone seeking your business location. This is a great way to help your potential customers easily locate your business.
